About this file
These documents are Boring Logs and corresponding Sand Analysis reports from geotechnical drilling conducted for the FAA Farmington project by Peer Engineering. Five boreholes (DW-1A-PB, DW-2A-PB, DW-4A-PB, DW-5A-PB, and DW-7A-PB) were drilled using rotosonic drilling methods in August 2011, each reaching depths of 40-45 feet with elevations at ground level (0 ft). The primary contractor was Layne Northwest, with drilling performed by Layne.
The boring logs document soil stratigraphy at each location, describing material composition including coarse and medium-coarse sand with varying amounts of fine and rounded gravel, generally brown and gray in color. Boreholes DW-1A-PB and DW-2A-PB recorded water table depths of 17 feet, while DW-4A-PB also encountered water at 17 feet. Recovery rates ranged from 2 to 10 feet per sample interval. Sand analysis reports generated by Johnson Screens (ID #082511-1 through 082511-3) accompanied each boring, providing sieve analysis curves and well design recommendations. All analyses recommended an 8-inch pipe size screen with 50-slot openings from 24-37 feet depth, #50 Well Slot Red Flint gravel pack with 3/8-inch and larger material removed, and a desired yield of 100-300 gallons per minute with a 10-foot static water level.
