About this file
This document is an Amendment (Amendment 0002) to Solicitation 697DCK-25-R-00291 for ceiling grid refurbishment at the Houston Air Route Traffic Control Center. The amendment includes a questions and answers section addressing specific project details such as furniture protection, suspension system requirements, and work conditions. Key clarifications include: contractors must cover furniture with tarps during work, existing wire suspension systems can be utilized unless compromised, all demolition can be completed in one day, and no special equipment is required beyond careful debris prevention. The project involves replacing ceiling tiles and grid while maintaining normal working conditions, with additional note that most walls are concrete, limiting perimeter wall molding attachment methods. The solicitation is set aside for small businesses with a NAICS code of 236220 and an estimated price range below $100,000.

Questions and Answers
1. Please advise if the contractor will be required to move all of the furniture prior to and after removal and installation of ceiling tiles and grid, or if the government will be moving all the furniture
Answer: The furniture is not to be moved. The contractor is to cover all equipment with tarps to keep debris from falling on desks and equipment. A lot of equipment would have to be disconnected to move the furniture which would not be ideal.
2. What is existing suspension system? If it is wire, should we upgrade to ROD system, or should we use the existing?
Answer: Wire is currently being utilized. It will be permissible to utilize the existing wire unless it’s compromised or additional is needed. If so, new wire should be installed.
3. When replacing corner grids, the wall paint will be chipped, will you be able to provide existing paint code, so we can touch up?
Answer: I’ll check with ESU to see if by chance they may have the paint code. If not, a paint sample can be removed to have it color matched.
4. Can we do demo all at once? this will help to bring a container in one day and remove it at same day. All systems will be hanging on normal working conditions.
Answer: Yes , all demo may be done at once.
5. Will there be any special equipment that we have to have in consideration for special care during work?
Answer: No, but being the furniture, computers, etc. will not be moved and must be covered with tarps to prevent debris from falling on the equipment special precaution should be exercised to prevent damage to anything.
Note: The majority of the walls are concrete so drywall screws will not be able to be.
utilized to secure the perimeter wall molding.
