About this file

This document appears to be a set of questions and answers related to a federal contract opportunity for the MKG and GRR TRACON Realignment and Refurbishment project.

The solicitation is for the removal of existing obsolete consoles, carpets, ceilings, and other work, as well as the provision of partitions, carpets, ceilings, HVAC, and electrical work at the Muskegon County Airport (MKG) and the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR). The questions address the specifications for the console and window requirements, including confirming that there are no console replacements and that the window work involves replacing the existing insulated glass units with new ones. The FAA provided responses clarifying the scope of work.

MKG & GRR Questions

4/30/2024

1. Can you confirm if this solicita on on sam.gov includes new consoles and if slat wall consoles are an cipated to be bid for this TRACON? (It appears the specifica ons call for millwork/plas c laminate, so we are not sure if this is an outdated specifica on or whether the FAA has not chosen slatwall for this refurbishment?

FAA Response: There is no console, only millwork as specified in the documents.

2. What are the exis ng window/opening sizes? And window frames sizes?

FAA Response: We are not replacing any frames but frosted glasses with clear. The window openings varies as shown on 6th floor plan and requires field measurements. Approximate sizes already shown in the drawings and photos are provided below. Exact field measurements should be standard opera ng procedure for a glazing contractor replacing exis ng insulated glass units with new ones . The following imagines are of the windows in ques on:
