The vendor shall provide in-lay non-glare plexiglass for all writing surfaces.
11. Part 2, 1.
In Part 1, 4. e), the decision about onsite or offsite staging would be after the Site Survey (after contract award). Is offsite staging to be a) included in the bid, or b) added to scope of work and decided after the Site Survey as mentioned in part 1e Mockups?

In the AVP location, Training Lab, please confirm that the Radar Console will not be replaced Correct, the Training controller console in the AVP Training Lab will NOT be replaced with Slatwall.
16. Part 1,
5. b)
For the AVP location, the wording in 5. b) asks to have a bookcase and cubby enclosure provided but this is not shown in the images. Please confirm these are required for the AVP location and provide the dimensions.
The AVP location requires a cubby enclosure sized to include approximately 36 cubbies.

In the MDT Equipment Room, should the STARS monitor mount include the full set of mounts for the MDM monitor including Mount, Bezel, DCP enclosures, and extendible mount to allow this heavy MDM monitor to be pulled toward the front of the console so that two people can replace it if needed? Are mounts needed for the STARS support equipment and is space needed for the STARS full size computers?
Yes, the vendor shall provide the required mount for installing and removing the STARS MDM from the Slatwall. Since no maintenance cavity will be installed for the Equipment Room, FAA is requesting the installation of the STARS processors in a cabinet below the writing surface or on shelving attached to the back of the Slatwall.

In the AVP Training Lab, for the right position, should the STARS monitor mount include the full set of mounts for the MDM monitor including Mount, Bezel, DCP enclosures, and extendible mount to allow this heavy MDM monitor to be pulled toward the front of the console so that two people can replace it if needed? Are mounts needed for the STARS support equipment and is space needed for the STARS full size computers?
Yes, the vendor shall provide the required mount for installing and removing the STARS MDM from the Slatwall. At the ELM location, the image of the GPW desk shows 16 cubbies under the worksurface – do these need to be drawers or can they be open storage cubbies?
See the updated MDT/AVP Clarification document
20. Images pg 28
Please provide a photo of the existing condition where the ELM desk will be positioned (reference Jim Anzaldi photos from site visit).
See the updated MDT/AVP Clarification document
21. Site Visit
MDT: At each TRACON position there is an overhead light. Please confirm that an LED Task Light should be provided for each position.
See the updated MDT/AVP Clarification document
22. Site Visit
AVP: Overhead lighting is currently installed above the positions. Please confirm the overhead lighting will be revised by others. Also, advised if an LED Task Light should be provided for each position.
The vendors will not be responsible for the overhead track lighting above the AVP TRACON Center Island. Task lights are addressed in the updated MDT/AVP Clarification document
1. Rear Side – Are doors required? If so, what type are acceptable?
Yes, doors are required. Vendor should quote their standard door solution that the FAA is familiar with.
2. Interior – Is Unistrut required inside the consoles?
FAA needs clarification on this comment.
3. Worksurface – What type of edge is required / acceptable?
a. Straight 3mm edge band? – Least Expensive
b. Mechanically attached comfort edge? -Commercial Standard
c. Molded urethane comfort edge? – Most Expensive
The vendor should quote a mechanically attached comfort edge work surface.
4. Power Outlet System. How many outlets per console – Critical? Essential? What type is required?
a. Quad Boxes?
b. Hard Wired Plug Strips?
c. Corded Power Strips with breakers? – 20A Twist type? Or Straight Type?
The vendors should provide one (1) critical and one (1) essential 5-foot power strip in each Controller console. These power strips should have a L5-20P plug to connect to the FAA provided power receptacles.
5. Flight Strip Drop Tubes. You may have covered this with Mitch during the walk through. Since I don’t think anyone wants to drill holes in the slatwall, do you envision these two tubes attaching to the front of the slatwall?
This was discussed during the walkthrough. FAA is prioritizing an effort to migrate MDT away from flight strip drop tubes before Slatwall deployment, however, in the event that the drop tubes remain in service then the vendor should plan for the tube to be routed through the top of the rear side of the console, similar to the existing Controller consoles. The FAA recommends a hatch door or similar opening in the lower portion of the Slatwall that can be closed after the drop tubes are removed.
1. What are the sizes and number of CPU as well as the Thin Clients under MDT
Supervisor Desk and Flight data Position?
The CPU quantities is provided in the attached Equipment Matrix. Vendor should assume the size of the 16” x 18” x 6” or smaller.
2. How many CPUs and Thin Clients under AVP Supervisor Desk?
The CPU quantities is provided in the attached Equipment Matrix. Vendor should assume the size of the 16” x 18” x 6” or smaller.
3. Confirm that all the power/data comes from one floor penetration for the entire
Supervisor/Flight Data wall at MDT?
The FAA will add more floor penetrations during the Site Preparation phase to accommodate the furniture layout change and the installation of additional power circuits.
4. Is proof of seismic certification of consoles required?
The FAA will require proof that the vendor’s product will meet the seismic requirements in the Statement of Work.
5. At MDT can the 48” and 36” Writing surfaces for the Maintenance Scope along with the GPW have one Writing Surface of 84”?
The FAA prefers two individual writing surfaces of 48” and 36”.
6. Are decorative end pieces required in the MDT Maintenance on the combined
48” and 36” positions?
The FAA shall provide the required components to give the consoles a clean and complete finish.
7. What does “Slatwall Surface” imply?
This term refers to a writing surface attached to a Slatwall desk or console.
8. Confirm that you desire both the large printer and the FDIO printer to be accessible from both the Supervisor desk and the Flight Data Position at MDT?
No, FAA is requesting only the FDIO printer to be accessible from both the Supervisor and Flight Data desks at MDT.
9. Are the Radar Units at MDT required to have an enclosed rear area?
FAA needs clarification on this comment. If the vendor is asking about whether doors are required on the back of the Controller consoles, than the answer is Yes.
10. Confirm inlaid, non-glare Plexiglas on all surfaces at MDT, AVP and ELM to include the Maintenance Consoles at MDT.
Yes, FAA confirms this style of plexiglass.
11. There is an ASR Control Panel and NAVAID indicators on the left side of the wall behind the Supervisor Desk at MDT. (By the door to the maintenance area). Please confirm that engineering services will be responsible for removing and relocating them. Are any types of mounting required from the vendor?
This equipment will be handled by FAA and will not require any Slatwall components.
