About this file
The document is a Request for Information (RFI) responses for Solicitation Number 6973GH-25-R-00186, covering the renovation of a guard house and HVAC replacement at the Fort Worth Air Route Traffic Control Center (ZFW ARTCC). The RFI addresses seven specific contractor questions regarding project details, including ADA requirements for a new vanity, furniture moving responsibilities, dust control during sanding, floor base replacement, and roofing specifications. Key responses clarify that guards will move personal items, select electronics can be covered during sanding, zero VOC paint must be used, and specific dust reduction measures are required during construction.
The associated federal contract opportunity is an Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) funded solicitation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for a firm fixed-price contract. The project is located at 13800 FAA Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76155, with a site visit scheduled for June 25, 2025. Proposal submissions are due by August 1, 2025, at 3:00 PM Central Time, with award anticipated to the lowest-priced, fully responsive offeror. Contractors must submit a completed SIR document, representation and certifications, and an experience questionnaire demonstrating projects valued at over $50,000 completed within the last three years. Proposals must be emailed to Nina.J.Musserf@faa.gov with specific subject line requirements.

Recommeded Measures to Reduce Dust During Sanding
1. Choose the highest grit that will effectively remove the material. Additionally, consider using sandpaper with anti-static properties, as it can significantly reduce static buildup.
2. If using mechanical means for sanding, utilize the lowest speed to effectively remove the material.
3. Employ a dust collection system, such as a shop vac or larger dust collector.
4. Open doors and use shop fans to direct the dust outside.
5. Consider wet sanding to reduce dust.
6. Use light and even pressure when sanding to minimize dust.
