Tab 16 SIR 6973GH-24-R-00262 Attach 9- RFI’s

1. Question: Does this project include a roof replacement of the Tower CAB roof, base building of the ATCT roof, or both?

Response: The scope and intent of this project was only to address the base building.

2. Question: Will we be permitted to take photos of the roofing and components on the roof? In particular one item is the lightning protection system, as it will need to be removed during roof replacement then reinstalled.

Response: Yes, pictures will be permitted to be taken of the work areas and items included in the SOW. Any other photography not directly related to the project work elements is prohibited.

3. There is a large cost difference in abatement depending on what is found to be ACM. How would you like us to price the abatement cost?

Response: Bidders should submit their offers reflective of a unit price bid option covering the potential ACM abatement. This bid option can be exercised once the existing roof assembly is systematically demo’d and the sub layers are exposed fully. This bid option will be exercised on a unit basis depending on the magnitude of ACM present, if any.

4. Original RFP has metal decking, the core cuts indicated that there is concrete. Is there any indication of if the concrete has pitch or do we need to include pricing for tapering.

Response: There are no current drawings indicating pitch of concrete. Please plan to incorporate in pricing. This can be completed via tapered rigid insulation.

5. Is there any requirement for full-time safety oversight. If so what are the experience requirements for that role.

Response:

Training and Oversight

• Worker Training – All personnel should be trained in fall protection, ladder safety, and proper use of PPE.

• Competent Person Oversight – An OSHA-defined competent person should be on-site to inspect safety measures daily.

• Emergency Plan – Have a plan in place for rescue and first aid in case of an accident.

Daily Safety Inspections

• Verify that handrails are secure and can withstand required loads.

• Inspect harnesses, lanyards, and anchor points before use.

• Check for trip hazards, loose materials, or debris.

6. Is there any site specific training requirements

Response: No, but be aware that all workers will need to be able to gain access to the base/site. No felonies, etc.

7. Will there be liquidated damages in the contract, and if so, what is the daily amount?

Response: No there will not be liquidated damages in the contract.

8. Will any retainage be held for billing?

Response: No there will not be any retainage held for billing.

ADDITIONAL SIR MODIFICATION

1. The old drawing did not show a concrete deck, which we found when we took core samples at the bid walk. In order to expedite installation and keep noise levels down, a fully adhered single ply PVC roofing system will be considered an acceptable solution.

2. It was discussed that the site facilities are limited and the preference is for contractors to provide their own portable toilets. Please plan for this accordingly in the bid pricing.
