Q&A Sheet 6973GH-24-Q-00225: HAR RCAG Roof
1. There is no roof on there now; it is just a concrete slab up there correct?
A. Yes, only concrete slab.
2. The existing roof is pre-sloped to one end where there is a gutter I am assuming?
A. No gutter currently installed on building.
3. What is the insulation that is being requested to be installed?
A. 1 ½” ISO per specification 7.1.2.2(K)
4. So I am assuming there is an original roof on there… possibly a BUR of sorts?
A. The original roof is a concrete deck. No other roofing material.
5. I will be unable to attend the site visit for this project. Do you have the original architectural plans showing the current roof measurements and existing roof composition?
A. I do not have the original architectural plans. Contractor shall confirm all site dimensions.
6. 60 mil White EPDM in number 2 on page 2 of the SOW but later it in section 7-1.2.2 it states Black-What color does the FAA wish for the roof membrane to be?
A. Membrane will be white.
7. Number 2 page 2 states the insulation will be mechanically attached however it later states the deck is concrete. You can mechanically attach to this, but normal practice would be to use a low-rise foam insulation adhesive. What fastening application does the FAA prefer?
A. Mechanical fasteners. The existing concrete deck is painted and adhesive may not bond properly.
8. The SOW calls out 1 ½ inch poly-iso. Is this to go directly over the current system (overlay) or does the FAA want the roof to be removed to the deck and then install the insulation?
A. Insulation to be fastened directly to existing concrete deck. The existing concrete roof is the current roofing system, therefore, no demolition required.
9. Are there any drawings, measurements, or photos of the roof that can be uploaded to SAM.gov?
A. Roof detail drawing and extra pictures uploaded to SAM.gov.
