d.) All trees will be completely mulched in place. Stumps shall be mulched down to ground level. All resulting wood chips will be evenly spread over the entire area to provide erosion control.

e.) No trees will be removed from site & Contractor is not allowed to sell lumber. Any trees too large for mulching will be cut into small lengths and disposed off site.

2. Repair equipment building security fence and, repair antenna vinyl gate.

a.) Replace broken outriggers. Provide approximately (6) new barb wire outriggers on equipment building security fence. Replace all broken strands of barb wire. Restore barb wire tension.

Restore barb wire & outriggers to proper appearance, fit, & function.

b.) Replace vinyl gate on antenna fence. Provide new hinges, latch, & adjustable gate wheel.

Gate wheel to be equal to that made by Shepherd Hardware or Northern Tool Co. Provide (4) cubic feet crushed aggregate under path of wheel to insure smooth operation.

3. Provide fill and rock. Increase size & provide larger radius for driveway entrance at equipment building gate.

a.) Remove top layer of unsuitable organic earth.

b.) Install 18cy structural fill. Compact fill to 95% density.

c.) Provide 9cy gap graded stone on top of fill.

4. Install new GFM fiberglass teepee antenna cover.

a.) This work requires an extended shutdown of VOR service. Provide one month advance notice to FAA. Verify NOTAM’s have been made. Obtain written permission from FAA to begin work.

b.) Perform electrical lock out tag out procedures. Make arrangements with an FAA Technician to take the VOR out of service, de-energize and, lock out – tag out antenna power. Un-fasten antenna cable located within tipi and remove electrical wiring harness from antenna motor. Wrap connectors in plastic bags w/electrical tape to prevent damage during construction.

c.) Provide crane services to remove fiberglass antenna cover. Cover is cone shaped 20’ high with 10’ diameter base. Cover weighs approximately 1000lbs. Remove antenna motor. Unbolt top cover & ring and remove from main tipi. Unfasten, cut seal, & carefully pry off main tipi and remove from sheet metal floor deck. Save all hold down plates & threaded fasteners.

d.) Use wire brush and penetrating oil and, clean all rust and corrosion off of the concrete anchors & bolts. Clean corrosion off of flat bar hold down plates. Replace any badly corroded fasteners. Store parts for re-use.

e.) Provide crane services. Install new GFM fiberglass tipi on sheet metal floor deck. Position neoprene gasket under tipi. Place tipi on floor deck and bolt into final position. Provide a liquid applied, 4” wide, membrane flashing around entire perimeter of tipi. Completely seal off the construction joint at base of teepee.

f.) Re-attach the antenna motor, top cover & ring. Re-connect all antenna cables & power wiring harness.

g.) Place old antenna cover onto the custom trailer. Place trailer in a readily accessible location for pick up.

5. Furnish and install a new Terne Plate covering over teepee interior floor.

a.) Remove and discard existing sheet metal terne plate from antenna floor. De-solder terne plate from steel antenna pedestal mounting ring. Do not dispose in landfill. Terne coated metal pans contain lead and must be recycled.

b.) Clean off all residue from concrete foundation with scrapers, wire brush and high speed grinder. Broom clean the concrete surface. Clean all residue from top and bottom of antenna pedestal.

c.) Install 1 layer, ASTM D-226, Type II, #30 Roof Felt over entire concrete foundation. Make ½” holes in felt for teepee anchor bolts. Neatly trim off roof felt around edge of concrete perimeter. Trim felt from around edge of antenna pedestal.

d.) Furnish and install a flat, seam locked & soldered, terne coated, sheet metal cover over concrete foundation and, antenna pedestal. All seams shall be fully soldered per manufacturers recommendations. Terne coated copper sheets shall be 20 ounces. Maximum pan size 18” x 24”.

Form sheets on a brake as indicated by roofing manufacturer. Mark folds ¾” from edge on all four edges. All seams must be fluxed, malleted, dressed and thoroughly sweated with solder. Use solder per manufacturer’s directions. Flux containing acid shall not be used. Use rosin only as a flux.

e.) Make ½” diameter openings in terne plate for teepee anchor bolts so terne plate lies flat across teepee anchor bolts. Lay terne plate across anchor bolts and lap 2” over the edge of foundation. Cut terne plate to match foundation radius plus two inches. Hammer terne plate down over perimeter edge of foundation to produce a neat 2” drip edge.

f.) Lap terne plate 6” over antenna pedestal. Cut terne plate to match antenna pedestal outer radius less 6”. Solder terne plate to pedestal. Terne plate solder all around pedestal to be a smooth and continuous weld.

6. Provide ground wire to antenna plate. Install a green #2AWG TWHN wire 20’ from pull box to antenna leveling plate. Cadweld wire to antenna plate.
