QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Question 1: Will the government consider a single engine turbine?
Answer 1: A single engine aircraft would be acceptable as long as it is able to transport the projected weight loads.
Question 2: Will offered aircraft have to be standard category – i.e. no restrictive category such as UH-1H, UH-60, etc?
Answer 2: The government is not concerned with the category of the aircraft, as long as the aircraft is able to effectively transport our crew and materials in a safe and efficient manner.
Question 3: Will the Government provide straps, rigging, cargo nets, etc, or is it contractor’s responsibility?
Answer 3: No, for liability reasons, the Government prefers that all hook-up, rigging, straps, cargo net, etc., be provided by the contractor.
Question 4: Where is the location for passenger pick-up and drop-off?
Answer 4: Reference SOW - Passenger pick-up will be the Tigers Cage Landing Zone (LZ), GPS coordinates Latitude 31.963767, Longitude -112.804282 for the concrete pad, with drop off on Ajo Mountain, AZ (Latitude 32.027222, Longitude -112.690389.) Passenger transportation will generally be between 7-8 AM and coordinated with the Government’s on-site representative as needed to accommodate an 8-12 hour workday at the tower site.
Question 5: What is the maximum payload expected for lift and transport.
Answer 5: Two mandatory loads (3 & 4) will require an estimated lift weight of 7,400 lbs. per load. For clarification, the number of trips required for lighter loads can be adjusted and rearranged to suit the aircraft’s load limit but the two heavy loads are mandatory.
Question 6: Can a line item be added for mobilization and demobilization?
Answer 6: No, any costs associated with this effort are to be captured in the daily rate proposed for the estimated number of days. Final payment will be based on the actual number of flight days the project takes by aircraft type and each day the aircraft is held on standby.
