Answers to Delta Electric Questions
Q1. Would FAA be able to confirm the source of the primary feeder to transformer # 72 Sheet E4
Specific Note #1?
A1. Transformer #72 is a loop feed transformer. One side is fed from switch #27430 (located west of hangar 9) and the other side is fed from transformer #13 (located north of Flight Inspection bldg.). See
Sketch 1.
Revise Specific Note #3 on Sheet E4 to read as follows:
After removing transformer #72, install a new manhole to create a path from duct banks coming from existing manhole #20 to duct banks going to existing manhole #24. Install new 15 KV feeders to connect existing 15KV switch #27430 to existing transformer #13.
(Sketch 1)
Q2. The light pole that is to be removed on Sheet E2 Specific Note #3. I order to maintain the circuit do we install a in ground traffic rated junction box or do we install new conduit and pull new conductors to the existing poles. I now that some of the street lighting has been in direct buried cable so I'm not sure what's existing so this could be an issue.
A2. Plans indicate new conduit and wire (specific note two).
Q3. The Light pole specification indicate a square pole.26 5600‐3 2.05. I think most of the poles at FAA are round taper. Also there is not a height indicated in the fixture schedule put on the point by point
Sheet E3 indicates MH 30 which I assume is 30 Ft. Another thing the pole finish is to match the luminaire but that not the standard FAA color. Please advise.
A3. Replace Exterior Lighting Specification 26 56 00 with revised specification (Attached).
Q4. On sheet C3 I don't see where there is underground primary conduit going to the electrical manhole
# 20. On sheet E 4 we are to extend new primary conductors thru manhole # 20 to switch # 27430 so can
FAA confirm that the duct bank is existing.
A4. Refer to answer to Question #1.
Q5. When install the new primary conductors in the existing duct bank conduit I assume that this work will be done after normal business hours so the existing conductors can be de‐energized please confirm.
A4. Yes, after hours/weekend. Coordination with OCAT shall be done to switch circuits to de‐energize the switch, transformers and the cables.
Amend the following:
1. Refer to Specification 32 13 13 Concrete Paving. Delete Paragraph 2.06 and insert the following:
“2.06 PAVEMENT MARKINGS
A. Pavement-Marking (Paint): Pavement striping shall be per Oklahoma City Standard Specifications for Construction of Public Improvements, Section 734 - Traffic Stripe (Paint).
1. Color: White or as indicated.
2. Glass beads shall be per Section 737 – Glass Beads Used in Traffic Pavement Marking
Material.”
2. Refer to Sheet C3. Add the demolition of an existing storm inlet and associated 8” storm drain lines near the northwest corner of the construction site. See sketch 2 below.
