About this file

This document provides details on a federal contract opportunity for landslide repair work in Puerto Rico. The Federal Highway Administration, on behalf of the Puerto Rico Highway and Transportation Authority, is seeking design-build proposals for repairs to 46 landslides, pavement washouts, and other damages along various roads in the municipality of Utuado, Puerto Rico caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Work includes design and construction of earth retaining structures, drainage structures, pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction, temporary traffic control, and other miscellaneous work. The project will be completed in multiple work schedules or contract options with an estimated total value between $20-30 million. A two-phased selection process will begin with a Request for Qualifications due on June 30, 2022, followed by a Request for Proposal sent to shortlisted firms. Annual representations and certifications must be completed along with registration in the System for Award Management database. Subcontracting plans are required for contracts exceeding $750,000 or $1.5 million for construction.
