Annual Electrical Condition Monitoring Survey
Report
This Is To Certify that RMS did attend the STATE OF MAINE, Official Number 029703, on May 05, 2019 to May 08, 2019 in order to perform an Electrical Condition Monitoring Survey using Infrared Thermography. For further particulars refer to the report as follows.
This Report is Divided into the following Sections.
Introduction
Summary
Electrical Database
Electrical Fault Data and Recommendations
This Survey was performed on all available Electrical Items listed in Section 3 for the continuation of a Condition Monitoring (CM) Program.
Infrared Thermography or Thermography is an important form of non-contact, non-destructive testing used to detect and provide photographic evidence of heat loss or gain and to identify problems before they lead to Catastrophic Failure.
Infrared energy is radiated by every living being and inanimate object in an amount proportional to its temperature but is invisible to the human eye. Thermographic Cameras are used to translate infrared energy into visual Thermographic Images.
Thermographic Images produce contrasting light, dark, or color visual representations of the relative temperature differences between objects and their surroundings.
Most electrical equipment Failures are due to overheating because of excessive resistance in connections and conductors. These problems worsen progressively, until mechanical or dielectric failure causes damaging or destructive short circuits.
When an Electrical Fault is detected the temperature of that component and a reference component is measured. The resulting Temperature Differential or Rise is used to determine the Severity of the Fault so repairs can be Prioritized. Load conditions should always be taken into consideration when Prioritizing repairs. Faults that occur under low electrical loads may be more Severe under high load conditions.
A Thermographic Image of the Electrical Fault is recorded along with a Control Photograph (standard white light image).
The following Guidelines and Standards were used to Perform this Analysis and or Survey:
ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) Steel Vessel Rules Part 7 Appendix, Section 14 Guide for Survey Based on Preventative Maintenance Techniques”
NETA (InterNational Electrical Testing Association) “Acceptance Testing Specifications for Electrical Power Distribution Equipment and Systems”, Section 9.0 "Thermographic Survey"
The following Hardware was used to Perform this Analysis and or Survey:
• Mikron 7200 or 7515

Electrical Fault Data and Recommendations
The Data is Presented in the Following Format
• The location, description, and Electrical Fault description are given at the top of each Fault Data page.
• The Absolute Temperature measurements in Degrees Celsius are recorded for each Fault Detected. The
Ambient Temperature and Temperature of a Reference Component are also recorded. The temperature Differential or Rise between the Fault and Reference Component is calculated and displayed along with the other Temperature Measurements on the left side of each Data page.
• Amperage levels are also recorded when possible (within safety parameters) to determine electrical load and check for phase imbalance that may indicate overload conditions. These values are given at the lower left-hand side and include rated amperage of motor and of each phase for comparative analysis. This Data should also be considered when determining the Severity of a Temperature Fault and Prioritizing Repairs.
• Comments and or recommendations are based on the Fault Data and can be found at the bottom of the
Temperature Fault Data page.
• A Thermographic Image of the Fault is recorded along with a Control Photograph (standard white light image).
The following Temperature Rise Severity Guide is available in the NETA Maintenance Testing Specifications for Electrical Power Distribution Equipment and Systems Manual Section 9.5 "Test Results" and is provided to assist in determining the Severity of Temperature Faults.

Annual Machinery Condition Monitoring Survey
Report
This Is To Certify that RMS did attend the STATE OF MAINE, Official Number 029703, on May 05, 2019 to May 08, 2019 in order to perform a Machinery Condition Monitoring Survey using Vibration Analysis. For further particulars refer to the report as follows
This Report is divided into the following Sections.
Machinery Database
Machinery Analysis and Recommendations
Machinery Data
This Survey was performed on all available Machinery Items listed in Section 3 for the continuation of a Condition Monitoring (CM) Program.
A Machinery Database has been created using Computational Systems Incorporated (CSI) MasterTrend RBM software, which defines all measurement points including analysis and alarm parameters for each machine. The frequency ranges are defined or set as a function of the machine’s operating speed. The Overall Trend measurement amplitudes are expressed in Velocity IPS (inches/second) Peak. The Vibration Spectrum’s amplitude is also expressed in Velocity IPS (inches/second) Peak and the frequency domain is expressed in Cycles per Minute (CPM).
HFD (high frequency detection) measurement amplitudes are expressed in Acceleration (G’s) Peak. The Waveform amplitudes are also expressed in Acceleration (G’s) Peak. Acceleration measurements are especially useful in the detection of rolling element bearing lubrication problems, defects, or faults.
Vibration Measurements are recorded in Three (3) Directions whenever possible.
Horizontal Machines
V=Vertical H=Horizontal A=Axial
Vertical Machines
L=Longitudinal T=Transverse A=Axial
The following Guidelines and Standards were used to perform this Analysis and or Survey:
ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) Steel Vessel Rules Part 7 Appendix, Section 14 Guide for Survey Based on Preventative Maintenance Techniques”
SNAME T&R Bulletin 3-42 “Guidelines for the Use of Vibration Monitoring for Preventative Maintenance”
The following Hardware and Software was used to perform this Analysis and or Survey:
• CSI 2120 Machinery Analyzer
• WRI, Model 797 Accelerometer (s) (frequency response 60-720,000 Cpm/1-12,000 Hz)
• CSI MasterTrend RBM Software
Machines that are Acceptable having low or allowable amplitudes may have comments included to inform operators of significant changes or potential problems. RMS will provide repair recommendations for all Suspect machines. That is a machine that exhibits excessive amplitudes as compared to the Alarm or historical Overall, HFD, or Ultrasonic Trend Data.
