About this file
This document is an Amendment (0002) to a federal solicitation for mold remediation services at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, NY. The amendment extends the solicitation due date to April 14, 2025, schedules a second site visit for April 2, 2025, and provides a comprehensive set of questions and answers (Q&A) related to the project. Key details include a small business set-aside for a total contract value estimated between $25,000 and $100,000, requirements for EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) licensing, and work involving potential lead and asbestos remediation in two historic buildings (Land Hall from 1920 and Jones Hall from 1943).
The Q&A section clarifies critical project parameters, including that the work can be performed during shift hours or weekends, no previous blueprints are available, a mold assessment report and asbestos survey are provided as attachments, and the contractor will have two weeks from award to conduct additional surveys and provide required documentation. The project requires an Environmental Technician at a wage rate of $26.97, follows federal and New York State wage guidance, and mandates a one-year workmanship and materials warranty. The solicitation does not guarantee a contract award due to current executive orders, and interested contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov).
