About this file

This is a Clarification Questions and Responses document addressing four key inquiries regarding a propane tank removal and demolition project.

The propane tank, owned by Suburban Propane rather than the government, is currently undergoing service termination coordinated by the FAA. The tank provider will disconnect and remove the tank itself prior to commencement of contract work scheduled for August. The Contractor's responsibilities are clearly delineated to include removal of the tank's concrete foundation pad, vehicle bollards, and underground fuel piping that extends to the building. The tank itself will be removed prior to work initiation, limiting the Contractor's scope to infrastructure and piping removal rather than the tank unit removal or disposal.

CLARIFICATION QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES:

1) Question: Is the propane tank currently empty and out of service?

Response: FAA has initiated service termination, which includes emptying and taking the tank out of service. This activity is currently being coordinated and will be completed prior to demo activities in August.

2) Question: Is the tank owned by the Government or by a third-party propane supplier?

Response: The tank is owned by Suburban Propane, not the government.

3) Question: If owned by a propane supplier, will the owner remove the tank prior to commencement of work?

Response: The tank provider will disconnect and remove the tank as part of their service termination. This is all part of the same activity being coordinated by FAA and the provider.

4) If removal is required under this contract, please confirm the Contractor’s responsibility for tank removal, disposal, and any associated coordination requirements?

Response: The Contractor will be responsible for removing the tank concrete foundation pad, vehicle bollards, and underground fuel piping to the building. The tank itself will be removed prior to work.
