About this file

This document is an Addendum No. 4 for a state and local contract opportunity issued by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) for the Inspection, Testing, Maintenance & Repairs of Fire Detection Systems at Various Locations in District 6. The project involves performing inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on fire detection systems at 38 different sites, including tunnels. The contract provides details on the allowed work hours, with tunnel devices to be inspected during third shift with proper closures. The contract requires the use of an approved barcoding provider for all testing, and coordination with the fire alarm monitoring company, American Alarm. The contract also requires the successful bidder to review construction projects and submittals related to the contract. The proposal is due to be opened and read on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 2:00 P.M.

The contract requires a valid F-1 License, and while a UL Testing certificate is preferred, it is not required. Bidders are responsible for coordinating any necessary road closures with the Department of Transportation Supervisor. The cost related to reviewing construction projects and submittals will be incidental to the appropriate item. There are no set-asides mentioned, and the incumbent contractor is not specified.
