About this file
This document is a Liquidated Damages Form from the Town of Palm Beach, outlining the contractual terms related to project completion timelines. The form establishes that time is of the essence for contract work, and the contractor acknowledges the difficulty of calculating potential damages from delayed project completion. The document specifies that the contractor and their surety will be liable to pay liquidated damages according to the Florida Department of Transportation schedule (paragraph 8-10) for each calendar day beyond the agreed completion date, including any approved time extensions.
The form requires the contractor to confirm understanding and compliance with the liquidated damages terms by providing their company name, an authorized representative's name, and signature. If the contractor is terminated before project completion due to default, liquidated damages will continue to accrue until the work is finished. The document provides a standardized mechanism for the Town of Palm Beach to recover costs associated with project delays, ensuring accountability and financial protection for the municipal government.
