Minimum Specifications:
• Smarty Bronc Brand or Snow College approved equal.
• Overall dimensions: Approximately 168 in. L × 64 in. W × 64 in. H. Reasonable dimensional variations will be accepted when the unit provides equivalent functionality.
• Weight: Approximately 1,350 lbs., including tow bar.
• Towable configuration: Unit must be designed to be pulled by an ATV, UTV, utility vehicle, or tractor.
• Bucking action: Must simulate the principal movements of a live bucking horse, including forward travel, jump, break-over, and kick.
• Progressive training capability: Must allow riders to practice at slower, controlled speeds before progressing to faster or more challenging operation.
• Moving/functional head: Must incorporate a head that moves during operation to provide realistic rein interaction and allow riders to develop proper rein movement, timing, balance, and muscle memory.
• Rider position: Machine must provide realistic horse-body dimensions and rider positioning suitable for practicing bronc riding technique.
• Repeatable training: Must provide consistent and repeatable bucking action suitable for instruction, coaching, athlete evaluation, and skill development.
• Mobility: Machine shall utilize a wheeled/towable chassis that allows the unit to travel forward while the rider is practicing, rather than functioning solely as a stationary bucking barrel or stationary mechanical simulator.
• Construction: Heavy-duty commercial construction suitable for repeated use in a collegiate rodeo/equine training environment.
• Intended use: Machine must be purpose-built or commercially designed for bronc riding training. General amusement mechanical bulls, stationary bucking barrels, or devices not specifically designed for rodeo athlete training will not be considered equivalent.
