East Coast Data Center Cleaning Site Visit
28FEB2024
The following questions and answers were provided.
1. Is any containment required around the cleaning area while being cleaned?
o No, no containment is required.
2. Is static discharge while cleaning a concern?
o No, all equipment is well grounded.
3. Is the expectation, for areas under floor mounted hardware (like the server racks and other equipment) where the floor tiles can’t be lifted, that vacuum extension tubes and cleaning wands be used to clean as best as possible?
o Yes
4. Will floor tile pullers be provided?
o Yes
5. Has the cleaning been performed before?
o Yes, but only for the Kearneysville location and it has been over five years.
6. Is a clearance required for the cleaning technicians?
o No, they will only need a valid state ID and will be escorted while cleaning.
7. Are any of the areas Secret and inaccessible?
o Yes, some of the spaces do host classified equipment. However, those areas are accessible with escort and are in-scope.
8. Where is the janitorial closet?
o In Kearneysville the janitorial closet is just down the hall, but that may not be the case for Chesapeake and Alexandria.
9. Will there be a site visit for Chesapeake and Alexandria?
o No, this is the only site visit as this space is representative of what you will find at the other two locations.
10. Will the excess equipment that is not floor mounted be moved?
o Yes, the Government will ensure that we move any equipment that is not floor mounted so that the removable tile can be accessed.
11. Which entrance to the data floor can be used?
o Once the contractors have checked in with Security and are being escorted, they will be able to use the closest entrance/exit to the data floors they are cleaning.
