About this file
This is a Certification of Current Capacity form issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for construction contractors participating in public works bidding. The form requires contractors to certify that any proposal submitted for a specific letting does not exceed the firm's current capacity, calculated as the maximum capacity rating minus total uncompleted work. Contractors must complete the accompanying "Status of Contracts on Hand" report detailing all prime and subcontracts in progress or recently awarded, regardless of contracting party. The form specifies that the uncompleted work data must be current as of either the 15th day of the preceding month (if the letting occurs before the 25th of the month) or the 15th day of the month of the letting (if after the 25th). All new contracts awarded within five days prior to the letting date must be included and charged against the contractor's total rating. The contractor completes the certification by providing the firm name, swearing an oath, and signing with title and date.
The form requires contractors to list all contracts in a detailed table format showing the project owner and location, total contract amount, amounts sublet to others, balance of contract amount, and uncompleted work portions for both prime contractor and subcontractor roles. All amounts must be rounded to the nearest $100. Contractors may consolidate individual contracts representing less than 3 percent of total value if they collectively account for less than 20 percent of the total. The document serves as a compliance mechanism ensuring contractors do not overcommit their resources beyond their certified capacity when bidding on FDOT projects, thereby protecting the state's interests in contractor performance and project completion.
