The project scope includes replacement of the auditorium house lighting system and encompasses comprehensive electrical work encompassing general requirements, electrical provisions, conductors and cables, grounding systems, raceways, overcurrent protective devices, transformers, switchgear, panelboards, wiring devices, and a complete stage lighting and dimming control system. The specifications detail requirements for providing theatrical lighting fixtures including LED spotlights (12 units of 10° field angle, 24 units of 19° field angle, 64 units of 26° field angle, 64 units of 36° field angle, and 48 units of 50° field angle), LED wash fixtures (24 units), LED cyc fixtures (20 units), linear LED fixtures (16 units of 6-foot length), followspots (2 units), worklights (18 units), and associated accessories. The project requires submission of shop drawings within 90 days of contract award, with a pre-bid meeting attendance requirement and anticipated board approval on May 5, 2026, followed by final award issuance.
The specifications establish strict requirements for submittal procedures, including electronic PDF submissions with bookmarking by division and section, with maximum one submittal per specification section allowed. All electrical work must comply with the National Electrical Code, NEMA standards, and UL listing requirements. The lighting control system must be provided by a single manufacturer with a minimum 10-year history of manufacturing electronic lighting controls and include architectural control processors, DMX gateways, touchscreen stations, relay panels, and network infrastructure supporting up to 63,399 DMX universes. Installation services must be performed by a factory-authorized theatrical dealer/integrator experienced in complete theatrical system implementation, who shall provide initial programming, fixture hanging and focusing, on-site support during the first tech rehearsal and performance, and two additional site visits at six months and one year post-occupancy. The contractor is responsible for all demolition, patching, repair of finished surfaces, and coordination of new equipment integration into existing electrical systems, with all costs included in the base bid. A two-year warranty is required from the equipment manufacturer covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service from the date of system energization.
