About this file

This is an exhibit of water meter specifications for a sealed bid procurement by the City of Bend, Oregon, for water meter hardware and related equipment. The City of Bend seeks bids for water meters in three categories: 5/8" meters, 1" meters, and 5/8" short body meters, along with associated equipment including double check valve assemblies, hoops, meter adapters, fire hydrant meters, compression couplings, and wrenches for use within the City's water system. The specifications establish detailed technical requirements for all meter sizes, including construction materials, measurement systems, pressure ratings, accuracy standards, and compatibility requirements with the City's existing infrastructure.

All water meters specified must be constructed of noncorrosive material with no moving parts, utilizing electromagnetic or ultrasonic measurement systems integrated into a single housing unit. Meters must meet federal low lead requirements and comply with American Water Works Standards C-700, C-710, and C-715-18, as well as NSF/ANSI Standard 61 Annex F-G. Each meter must operate at maximum working pressures of 175 psi, maintain 98.5% accuracy at specified normal operating flows, be fully compatible with ACLARA MTU equipment, include factory-constructed NICOR ends, and feature a 15-year guaranteed battery life with 5-year pro-rated coverage. The 5/8" standard meter has a 9-inch lay length with less than 7 psi pressure loss at 30 GPM, the 1" meter ranges from 10.75 to 11 inches in lay length with less than 4 psi pressure loss at 30 GPM, and the 5/8" short body meter has a 7-inch lay length with not exceeding 6 psi pressure loss at 30 GPM. Award may be made to multiple bidders by item, category, or entire schedule at the City's discretion.
