About this file
The document is a comprehensive Project Manual for the Savannah County Charter Public School System's (SCCPSS) Alternative Schools Renovation project, prepared by Goodwyn Mills Cawood, LLC. The project involves renovating the old Mercer Middle School to accommodate four different school programs: Building Bridges High School, Building Bridges Middle School, Wings Elementary, and SCELA. Located in Garden City, Georgia, the renovation encompasses comprehensive construction work including site, structural, architectural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems. The project manual is dated October 3, 2025, and includes detailed specifications across multiple divisions, with a total of 49 specification sections covering everything from existing conditions to utilities.
The project manual provides extensive technical specifications for the renovation, including detailed requirements for materials, installation methods, quality assurance, and performance standards. The scope includes comprehensive renovations with specific attention to roofing, mechanical systems, electrical work, and architectural finishes. The document outlines specific requirements for materials like concrete, masonry, metal fabrications, rough carpentry, and specialized systems such as firestopping and joint sealants. The manual includes provisions for sustainability, with encouragement of efficient material use, energy conservation, and environmentally responsible construction methods. While not mandating specific sustainable practices, the document suggests consideration of such approaches where practical and cost-effective.
