About this file
This is a comprehensive project manual for the Savannah County Commission Public School System (SCCPSS) Alternative Schools Renovation project, prepared by Goodwyn Mills Cawood, LLC, located in Garden City, Georgia. The project involves renovating the old Mercer Middle School to house four different school programs: Building Bridges High School, Building Bridges Middle School, Wings Elementary, and SCELA. The project manual, dated October 3, 2025, contains detailed technical specifications and construction documents covering multiple divisions including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and site work. The manual provides comprehensive guidance for contractors, including specific requirements for materials, installation methods, quality control, and execution across various building systems and components.
The project manual indicates this is a complete renovation project with an estimated scope involving substantial modifications to existing school facilities. While specific budget details are not explicitly stated, the extensive technical specifications suggest a significant capital investment in upgrading educational infrastructure. The document includes detailed technical requirements for everything from concrete and masonry work to electrical systems, lighting, fire suppression, and specialized educational equipment. The project appears to be publicly funded, likely through school district capital improvement funds, with requirements for compliance with local building codes, educational facility standards, and specific performance specifications for each system and component.
