About this file

This Scope of Work document outlines an Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued by Granite School District (GSD) in Utah for the design, fabrication, delivery, and installation of custom magnetic map displays at various GSD high schools. The displays will recognize graduating students by allowing them to place magnetic flags or markers on geographic locations of colleges and universities to which they have been accepted. GSD anticipates purchasing up to nine displays over three to five years, though actual quantities, dimensions, configurations, and installation requirements may vary based on individual school needs. The contract will be awarded to one vendor for an initial one-year term with options to renew for up to four additional one-year periods. The initial project requires a display measuring 192 inches wide by 96 inches high, incorporating Utah, United States, and world maps at specified dimensions, with removal of designated wall paneling and complete installation including mounting hardware, labor, and cleanup.

Each magnetic display shall be constructed using a steel-faced composite panel or equivalent magnetic-receptive material with a nominal thickness of 3mm, featuring durable adhesive-backed printable vinyl map graphics with a protective matte overlaminate resistant to fading and scratching. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, site measurements, surface preparation, delivery, installation, and debris removal. Bidders must submit itemized pricing for the base project with line items limited to two decimal places, and all questions must be posted in the Utah Public Procurement Place with answers provided in the same manner. Failure to provide required base project pricing may result in the bid being deemed nonresponsive. GSD reserves the right to purchase greater or fewer quantities based on actual needs and available funding, and equivalent materials and finishes may be accepted if they meet or exceed specified requirements.

INVITATION FOR BID

AP27-612 IFB

Purpose

Granite School District (GSD) is seeking a qualified contractor to provide the design, fabrication, delivery, and installation of custom magnetic map displays at various GSD high schools. It is anticipated that this solicitation will result in the award of a contract to one vendor. Contract will be written for a period of one-year with the option to renew for up to four additional one-year renewal periods.

GSD anticipates purchasing up to nine (9) displays over the next three (3) to five (5) years. Actual quantities, dimensions, configurations, and installation requirements may vary based on individual school needs. Quantities provided are estimates for bidding purposes only and do not constitute a guarantee of purchase. GSD reserves the right to purchase greater or fewer quantities based on actual needs and available funding.

Background The displays will be used to recognize graduating students by allowing them to place magnetic flags or markers on the geographic locations of colleges, universities, or other postsecondary institutions to which they have been accepted.

Scope of Work The awarded contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and services necessary to fabricate and install magnetic map displays at designated GSD facilities.

Services shall include, but are not limited to:

· Fabrication of custom-sized magnetic display panels.

· Production and application of Utah, United States, and world map graphics.

· Site measurements and coordination of display dimensions.

· Modifications to accommodate existing wall features, including electrical outlets, light switches, and other obstructions.

· Preparation of installation surfaces, including removal of existing wall paneling when required.

· Delivery, mounting, and secure installation of completed displays.

· Removal and disposal of debris and materials resulting from installation.

Product Specifications Each display shall mee the following requirements:

A. Magnetic Display Surface

· Displays shall be constructed using a steel-faced composite panel or equivalent magnetic-receptive material with a nominal thickness of 3mm.

· Map graphics shall be produced using durable, adhesive-backed printable vinyl with a protective matte, overlaminate resistant to fading, scratching, and peeling.

· The finished surface shall allow repeated placement and removal of magnetic markers without damaging the graphics or finish.

· All exposed edges shall be smooth and free of sharp edges.

· Equivalent materials and finishes may be accepted if they meet or exceed these requirements.

· Bidders shall identify the proposed substrate material, panel thickness, graphic material, and protective finish.

B. Map Design

· Each display shall incorporate maps of Utah, the United States, and the world.

· Maps shall be clearly identifiable and substantially consistent with the provided reference image. GSD may approve adjustments to the layout, proportions, and dimensions based on site requirements.

C. Dimensions and Configurations

· Display dimensions and map proportions may vary by installation location.

· Displays may consist of multiple panels, provided seams are minimized and professionally finished.

· Final dimensions and configurations shall be approved by GSD before fabrication.

D. Cutouts and Modifications

· Displays may require custom cutouts to accommodate electrical outlets, switches, fixtures, or other wall features.

· Cutouts shall be accurately measured and finished, with existing electrical devices remaining accessible and functional. Any electrical modifications require prior GSD approval and appropriately licensed personnel, where required.

Installation Requirements

The contractor shall be responsible for the complete installation of each display.

Installation requirements may include:

· Verification of site measurements before fabrication.

· Coordination with GSD personnel regarding placement and installation schedules.

· Removal of existing wall paneling or other nonstructural wall finishes as authorized by GSD.

· Preparation of mounting surfaces.

· Provision of appropriate mounting hardware and support materials.

· Secure attachment of the display to the existing wall structure.
