About this file

Summary

This is a Scope of Work document from Forsyth County, Georgia, for the SPLOST IX Transportation Bundle 5 project, establishing minimum requirements for property, topographic, and utility survey services to support planning and design of transportation infrastructure improvements. The Design Builder is responsible for conducting comprehensive surveys including control point establishment tied to the Georgia State Plane Coordinate System (West Zone) and NAVD 88, with a minimum of two benchmarks established outside survey limits. Survey work encompasses property boundary and easement research, topographic data at one-foot contour increments, utility location and documentation (sanitary sewer, water, storm drainage, and overhead utilities), pavement features, existing structures, and tree inventories with specific diameter thresholds based on developed versus undeveloped areas. The project also requires Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Quality Level B investigation for all underground utilities, with provisions for Quality Level A surveys at conflict locations identified during design progression.

Deliverables must be provided in Bentley OpenRoads Designer format with CAD files (dgn, dtm, UTLE, TOPO, and SURV), utility reports, and complete documentation of survey information organized according to GDOT specifications and standards. The Design Builder is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all survey data used for design and construction, must submit a surveying schedule for approval before commencing work, and shall provide unit rates for SUE Quality Level A services including test holes in both paved and unpaved areas, traffic control services, and associated permitting. The project is funded by SPLOST IX, with the Owner (Forsyth County) providing available GIS data, as-builts, utility information, easement documentation, and an introduction letter on County letterhead to facilitate survey work.
