About this file

This document is an affirmative steps certification form submitted by Letcher County in Kentucky in support of their demolition services procurement (Invitation for Bid 5075-Letcher-Demolition Services-R-9). The form certifies the county's commitment to taking affirmative steps to ensure nondiscrimination in the solicitation, award, and administration of contracts funded through disaster relief programs. The document outlines the county's obligations to advertise the opportunity, solicit bids from minority and women-owned business enterprises, and ensure equal employment opportunities throughout the contract execution. The affirmative steps certification is a requirement for disaster-related federal funding programs and demonstrates the procuring agency's compliance with federal nondiscrimination policies and regulations applicable to federally funded demolition and property acquisition projects.

The certification form confirms that Letcher County Fiscal Court will implement affirmative steps to promote fair competition and prevent discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, or other protected classifications. This documentation is a prerequisite for securing federal disaster relief funding and must accompany the invitation for bid to demonstrate the county's good faith commitment to equal opportunity contracting practices throughout the procurement process and contract performance period.
