About this file

This is a Questions & Answers document for an ADA Door Opener Project solicitation issued by GSA Region 10 on behalf of USDA at the Pacific Wildland Fire Sciences Laboratory in Seattle. The document clarifies that this is a new requirement with no incumbent vendor, to be awarded as a one-time purchase order with a 60-calendar-day period of performance from contract award.

The work involves installing ADA-compliant automatic door openers at the Burke Building, 400 N 34th Street, Suite 201, Seattle, WA 98103. Key technical requirements include hard-wired doors with integration to existing card readers at two locations, with one location requiring card reader replication on the opposite side of the door. While specific facility standards are not mandated, Stanley Magic Access Door Controllers are preferred based on other federal agencies' practices. The Service Contract Act (SCA) wage determinations apply rather than Davis-Bacon Act rates. Subcontractor past performance documentation will not be considered in proposal evaluation. Door measurements are referenced in a separate floor plan attachment.
