1 11/13/24 Is a 5 ft wide trench to run new line next to existing acceptable? Yes.

Will there be a designated area in garage for tools and material?
GSA expects at least half of the back wall will be cleared of cars for work but will clear all parking spots at once if possible. The cleared area of work along the back wall will be used to work and store materials. The area in front of the E. 6th St. backflow is a no parking zone for storage.
3 11/13/24 Is there any parking in garage for tool trucks?
The cleared area of work will contain space for tool trucks.
Individuals operating a vehicle in the garage will have to pass a background check and get a badge.
4 11/14/24 Who is the preferred fire alarm contractor for the building?
Existing subcontract for operations is Hatzel and Buehler. Subs that have been used are Hatzel and Buehler, Fire Tec, SA Comunale.
Programming work is proprietary and done by Simplex/JCI.
5 11/14/24 What is the make and model number of the fire alarm control box? Who "owns" the system? Is it something like JCI? Simplex/JCI - Simplex 4100U

Are any of the walls or floors that are being penetrated fire rated? It says to refer to architectural, but there is none.
There are no building floor penetrations on this project. Existing pipe penetrations are to be re-used if possible and rated equal to what is existing. All walls that are to be (potentially) penetrated are interior and exterior block walls located within the basement / parking garage.

Who is responsible for the creation of the maintenance of traffic plan and its implementation?
The general contractor is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of any and all plans, permits, road & sidewalk closures, etc. as required by the city to maintain access and operation during construction. Access to the building must be maintained throughout construction. Proper signage and barriers must be installed to ensure continued access and safety of pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the area.

9 11/14/24 Can the period of performance be extended after award once the material/equipment lead times are confirmed due to current market conditions for the equipment for this project?
The period of performance starts at award. Time extensions will be a contract modification and will be considered on a case-by-case basis pending technical justification.
12 11/18/24 Drawings C004 & C005
Drawing C004 does not have the drain line crossed out (to be removed)? Please clarify that this section of drain line is to be replaced? (Drawing attached)
The intent for that being shown on the demolition plan is to show the limits of sawcut for when the 6” drain line (shown on sheet C005) is installed. There will be no drains removed, just trenching.

14 11/18/24 What is the road cross section of East 6th Street and Lakeside Avenue? Should we figure the replacement as asphalt over concrete or brick? This will affect pricing.
15 11/19/24 Are soil boring reports available? If not, it will be assumed that excavation will be clear of rocks and obstructions. Not available.
