AMENDMENT NO. 6
Amendment No. 6 is hereby issued to respond to the following RFI’s:
30. Clarify if the 2” electrical conduits to elevator status panel at security desk should be provided with pull wire only or if electrical wires are required. If so, please indicate quantity and sizes of the electrical wires to be considered (See Drawing 2d-E-101).
Response: These conduits are for the elevator control and status panels. The contractor must coordinate the number of wires required for this function with the elevator contractor. The elevator scope is based on a performance specification.
31. Clarify wish type of enclosure should be considered for outdoor wall mounted pull boxes which require weatherproof enclosure. Nema 4x or Nema 3R? (See Drawing 2d-E-200) Response: We recommend using a Nema 4X box made of fiberglass.
32. Provide datasheets of the existing standby emergency generator indicating dimensions, weight, height, etc. (For rigging purposes) Response: This information is not available. Verify with manufacturer.
33. Demolition notes #3,6 & 9 shown on Drawing 2d-ED-201 indicate that the electrical contractor is responsible for reprograming the fire alarm system to account for the removal of devices but quantities of devices to be removed and location of the existing panel are not shown in the drawings. Please provide the specific scope regarding the fire alarm system.

85. We are encountering problems in getting quotes for the skylight due to specifications requirements, since testing has not been performed for 180mph winds and the Dynamic testing for the Blast Resistance.
Please communicate to the designer to explore other possible options.
Response: In regards to conformance with blast performance requirements, physical testing of the assembly is not required. Conformance with blast criteria, including determination if any internal steel reinforcement of the mullions is needed, requires analytical analysis by the contractor’s delegated engineer for the project-specified blast pressures. Refer to the project specifications for additional information.
In regards to conformance with project wind speed criteria, we note the following:
1) Testing is required for demonstrating conformance with hurricane impact requirements, but is not required for demonstrating conformance with wind pressures. Verification of the window assemblies to meet the required design wind pressures can be demonstrated analytically and does not require physical testing provided that the window assemblies are smaller or equal in size and are equal or stronger than the assembly that was tested for hurricane impact resistance. If the mullions need to be reinforced with steel bars to meet the blast performance criteria, this will also help with meeting the wind pressure criteria.
2) The design wind speeds and wind pressures listed on the contract documents are ultimate values based on ASCE 7-16 and are not allowable values based on earlier editions of the code.
86. Please confirm that the selected General Contractor and Subcontractors will need to pay 5% Gross Receipts Tax to the Virgin Islands Government.
