About this file
This document provides clarification comments and bid options for the construction services solicitation to renovate Building 185 in Brooklyn, New York for the United States Secret Service. The renovations will improve the building's operations as a parking garage and include select demolition work, insulating existing exterior metal panels, installing three free standing storage structures, resealing the existing asphalt floor and restriping parking areas, adding ceiling fans, replacing all interior lights, and other miscellaneous architectural and mechanical interventions. The clarification comments specify requirements such as temporarily reinstalling security cameras and exterior lights during construction, applying several coats of an epoxy floor coating system, utilizing existing electrical conduits where possible, and relocating an HVAC gas heater. The bid options exclude batt insulation and poly from interior walls and ceilings. The contractor must also propose a schedule allowing the tenant to use two thirds of the warehouse floor and provide dust barriers during construction.
