About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for Request for Quote Number 477787 issued by Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) for air-cooled, switched-mode dipole magnet power supply systems with embedded digital control and DCCT feedback. The document addresses six clarifications raised by potential vendors regarding the RFQ requirements.
Key clarifications include: the submission deadline has been extended one week to Friday, July 31, 2026, at 4:00 PM EST due to summer holidays; the supply power input voltage is fixed at 480V and cannot be reduced to the EU standard of 400V; the 208V AC 3-phase input specification for Designation H is correct; the output voltage requirement for Designation A is confirmed at 150V (not 120V); all required documents have been provided with no missing attachments; and the quoted price must include a fully integrated rack containing both the DCCT and power supply, rather than shipping components separately for BNL to integrate.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
REQUEST FOR QUOTE NUMBER 477787
AIR-COOLED, SWITCHED-MODE DIPOLE MAGNET POWER SUPPLY SYSTEMS WITH EMBEDDED
DIGITAL CONTROL AND DCCT FEEBACK
July 21, 2026
# QUESTIONS ANSWERS
1 Due to the summer holidays, we would appreciate an extension of the deadline.
We will extend RFQ for one (1) week. New due date is Friday, July 31, 2026, at 4:00 PM EST.
2 Regarding the note in the SOW, "may be lower power input voltage", could 480V be reduced to 400V (EU standard)?
The supply power is 480V. It must be able to run off that voltage.
3 Regarding designation H (375 A / 40 V polarity inverter, 208 AC 3-Phase): Is the 208V input listed correctly?
Yes.
4 I know from the previous solicitation that the magnet for Designation A was specified for 115V.
Your current request is 150V. Would our power supply still be considered if it only outputs 120V?
Meeting the 150V requirement would require a different and more expensive model series.
150 is correct.
5 It looks like a document is missing from this posted RFQ that contains the actual power supply requirements. This is needed to provide a quote.
There are no documents missing.
6 Does BNL want the quote to include a rack with the DCCT + power supply fully integrated, or shipped separately for BNL to intergrade into their own rack?
The rack should be included.
