About this file

This is Construction Bid Addendum No. 2 issued by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB), State Facilities Administration Design and Construction Division, for the Baraga Correctional Facility (AMF) Shower Upgrades Project located at 13924 Wadaga Road, Baraga, Michigan. The project scope encompasses demolition, removal, and disposal of existing shower systems and support infrastructure, followed by installation of new exhaust systems, shower enclosures, shower controls, and walls/ceilings/floors in shower areas. The Addendum clarifies project requirements including certified payroll submission procedures through the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity database, contractor responsibility for patching and painting hard lid ceilings to match existing conditions, and establishment of a $40,000 project allowance. The base bid construction duration has been extended to 44 weeks from the formal Notice to Proceed to accommodate long lead time equipment, with Alternate 1 offering an additional 12-week extension. A mandatory pre-bid onsite walkthrough is required for all bidders. The bid opening is scheduled for May 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM Eastern Time.

Bidders must submit bids electronically through the SIGMA VSS website and must acknowledge receipt of this Addendum on the Bid Summary Form, with failure to do so potentially resulting in bid rejection. A five percent bid guarantee is required with all bids, and performance and payment bonds are mandatory for bids exceeding $50,000. Builders Risk Insurance must be provided by the contractor. Bidders are required to base their proposals on specified or Addendum-approved materials and equipment only, with no substitution proposals permitted after bid opening except as provided in the General Conditions. The project is registered under 2023 PA 10, MCL 408.1122, requiring certified payroll compliance. This Addendum was issued on May 8, 2025, by Matrix Consulting Engineers, Inc., with Project Director Tom Pawlowski and was approved by the same.
