Drawings shall be assigned NAVSEA drawing numbers. These numbers will be provided by the Government upon request by the Contractor.

Each Data Item submittal shall be assigned a sequential revision designation to identify changes from the previous submittal.

Electronic media and digital files shall be compatible with computers using the Windows 10 operating system. The following electronic format products shall be used: Microsoft Office 2016™, Microsoft Project 2016™, Adobe Acrobat PDF (latest)™, WinZip 17.5™, AutoCAD 2020™, IGES 5.3™, or Solidworks unless otherwise specified. Alternative software or versions of software may be used if mutually agreed between the Contractor and the Government. All textual PDF files shall be searchable.

Documents shall not be submitted in PDF format unless specified in the specific data item. Drawings shall be submitted in an AutoCAD 2020™ compatible format and PDF format, unless otherwise specified, and shall not be in "read only" format.

The first three characters of each digital filename shall be the Contractor's name or acronym. The filename shall include the applicable Data Item number and a Contractor determined designation, followed by a one-character revision letter, as applicable. Data Items shall be assigned a sequential one-character alphabet designation in the Revision Block to signify a change from the previous submittal. Revision letter designations shall be in alphabetical order. The first submittal of any data item shall be identified as Revision "0". Revisions of submittals shall include a change log or be prepared in a "red line" format to allow for identification of changes from the previous submittal. Each file extension shall be the three-character default extension automatically assigned by the applicable software when a document is saved. Electronic files shall not be password protected.

All technical data developed in the execution of this contract shall be marked with: “DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT D: Distribution authorized to Department of Defense and U.S. DoD Contractors only, Administrative or Operational Use (Oct 2022). Other U.S. requests shall be referred to NSWCCD CCD (Code 83) or higher DoD Authority.”

Each data item submittal shall include the following export restriction:

"WARNING- This document contains technical data whose export is restricted by the Arms Export Control Act (Title 22, U.S.C. Sec 2751 et seq.) or the Export Administration Act of 1979, as amended, Title 50, U.S.C., App 2401, et seq. Violations of these export laws are subject to severe criminal penalties. Disseminate per provisions of OPNAVINST 551 0.161, Withholding of Unclassified Technical Data from Public Disclosure, 29 July 1985."

Files shall be transmitted to the Government via the PMS 300G Integrated Data Environment (IDE) hosted by the Naval Systems Engineering Resource Center (NSERC). If a file size exceeds 4MB of data, physical transmittal of the document shall be provided in its native format; otherwise, electronic transmittal is required in accordance with the DRL. For documents with no electronic original available, the original document shall be prepared electronically in Adobe Acrobat (*.pdf) format. If any individual files are larger than 400 MB in size, the Contractor shall work with the Government to supply the file(s) through some method other than the IDE.

All submittals shall be provided with a cover sheet. Each data item shall be submitted with a separate letter of transmittal. The cover sheet shall provide the following information:

Contractor's name, correspondence serial number, and actual date of transmittal (upload into the NSERC-based IDE).

· The Contract Number, Data Item Number, and Data Item Title.

· Boat acronym and applicable hull numbers.

· Applicable revision letter and revision date.

· Electronic media or digital file name and respective file date.

· A brief explanation of the submittal, the reason for a document's change, or a more detailed discussion in the content of the submittal.

· Distribution and quantity of copies being sent (not applicable to data provided at a shared location).

Where hard copies or electronic media are required, the Contractor shall deliver the Data Item submittals using properly sized envelopes or boxes in accordance with good commercial practice to prevent damage during mailing.

II. SUBMISSION SCHEDULE
