About this file
This document is a New Mexico Resident Preference Information form for state procurement, issued by the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department. The document outlines specific requirements for bidders and offerors seeking preference in state contract opportunities, with a focus on resident businesses, resident contractors, and resident veterans.
The document details key guidelines for obtaining and applying resident preferences, emphasizing that valid Resident Preference Certificates must be issued by the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department after January 1, 2012, and must be submitted with the bid or proposal. Importantly, preferences are not cumulative, meaning bidders are entitled to only one preference, and joint proposals involving both resident and non-resident businesses will have their preference reduced proportionally based on the percentage of work performed by each entity. Bidders are directed to contact the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department or visit their website (www.tax.newmexico.gov) for more information and application details.
