About this file
This is a Sole Source Purchase Announcement issued by City Colleges of Chicago through its Business and Procurement Services division at Dawson Technical Institute. The announcement declares the intent to award a contract to Muna Tree Holdings Africa to provide a study abroad program for Malcolm X College students. City Colleges has determined that this purchase is only economically available from Muna Tree Holdings Africa, citing the firm's reputation and reliability in Africa and its unique capability to deliver services across five countries to be visited by the students. A public hearing is scheduled for Monday, September 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. CDT via Zoom teleconference to allow interested parties to testify regarding the sole source determination. Registration for the hearing or to submit a vendor statement demonstrating capability to provide the services at or below the stated amount must be completed by the registration deadline with William Moore, Contracts Administrator, at (773) 487-6958 or Wmoore48@ccc.edu.
The announcement does not specify a contract value, pricing structure, or contract term. The sole source determination is based on Muna Tree Holdings Africa's recognized expertise and exclusive depth and breadth of services across the five target countries in Africa. The opportunity remains subject to cancellation prior to any scheduled hearing, and potential participants are responsible for confirming hearing details and access information directly with the Department of Business and Procurement Services. Angela Arrington-Jones, Vice Chancellor of Business and Procurement Services, serves as the primary contact for the procurement, and additional information is available through the City Colleges of Chicago procurement website or by calling (312) 553-2590.
