About this file

This is a Bid Bond Template document prepared for the City of St. George, Utah, related to the 2026 Sewer Relining Project. The project involves furnishing and installing 6,000 lineal feet of 8-inch to 18-inch sewer main liner and lateral liners. The bid bond must accompany all submissions and must be issued by a surety company licensed to conduct business in the State of Utah and approved by the City of St. George. A 100 percent performance bond covering labor and materials will be required upon contract award. The City of St. George reserves the right to reject any or all submissions or waive any formality or technicality at its discretion.

The bid bond amount must equal 5 percent of the total bid submission. All surety companies executing bonds must appear on the U.S. Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to transact business in Utah. The penal sum of the bid bond ensures that if a bid is rejected, the bond obligation becomes void; conversely, if the bid is accepted and the principal executes the contract and furnishes the required performance bond, the bid bond obligation is satisfied. The surety waives notice of any extension of the time within which the City may accept the bid, and the surety's liability shall not exceed the stated penal amount.
