About this file
This document is a Bid Bond Confirmation and Bid Check Return Authorization Form for Harris County, Texas. The form provides instructions for submitting a bid bond or cashier's check when participating in a county bidding process. Bidders must submit their documentation through the Bonfire platform, with physical cashier's checks to be dropped off in a sealed envelope at 1111 Fannin, 12th Floor, Houston, TX 77002 before the specified due date. The County Clerk may retain bid checks from the three lowest bidders until after contract award, approval, and receipt of performance and payment bonds.
The form authorizes Harris County to return the bid check via regular mail under three conditions: if the bidder is unsuccessful, after performance and payment bonds are received, or upon contract completion. All bid checks must be for the required amount and payable to Harris County, not to any individual. The document includes sections for both bid bond and cashier's check submissions, requiring bidders to provide details such as bond/check numbers, amounts, bank information, and contact details. The form was revised on 3/24/21 and is designed to provide a standardized process for bid security and return of bid checks.
