If CONTRACTOR is preparing initial pleadings, drafts shall be provided to inmates within 15 days. UDC is aware that in a few cases where extensive research and/or investigations are required, additional time may be needed.
However, CONTRACTORS ACKNOWLEDGES THAT TIMELY ATTENTION TO INMATES REQUESTING LEGAL ASSISTANCE IS OF THE ESSENCE. EVERY REASONABLE EFFORT SHALL BE MADE BY THE CONTRACTOR TO RENDER REQUESTED SERVICES IN A TIMELY MANNER. CONTRACTORS shall document inability to meet identified time frames including the reason(s) for any delay.
VII. SERVICE FORM
If CONTRACTOR uses a form to initiate contact with inmates seeking legal assistance provided for in Section III.A.1., above, CONTRACTOR shall fully explain the contents of the form in a face-to-face meeting with each inmate.
