About this file

This First Article Requirements (FAR) document details specifications for a critical aerospace component for the F100-PW-220 Engine. The document covers a Duct, Turbine, Aircraft (NSN: 2840015042791NZ, Part Number: 4086297) with specific first article testing requirements. The procurement involves a total quantity range of 22-131 units, with three first article units to be tested: two parts as part of production quantity and one additional part.

Key procurement details include a solicitation issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center, with an estimated solicitation issue date of 7 March 2025 and a response/closing date of 5 July 2025. The procurement is a small business set-aside, targeting a one-time spares buy for new manufacture. The duct's function is to hold the outer air seal in place on the High-pressure Turbine Rotor Assembly, and it is comprised of nickel alloy with dimensions of 28.0" L x 28.0" W x 3.0" H, weighing approximately 12 lbs. First article testing is mandatory, with strict inspection requirements outlined in document LPF-QAR-003, emphasizing the critical nature of this component for mission capability and system safety.
