About this file

This document is an Amendment to Solicitation (Amendment No. 02) for the Giese Road Substation Feeder 24 Backfeed project, issued by Fermi Forward Discovery Group, LLC. The solicitation (RFP No. 375074GMK) was originally issued on December 11, 2025, with a closing date of 10:30 AM CT on December 24, 2025. The amendment includes a comprehensive Questions and Answers section addressing specific project details such as cable supports, vault specifications, and installation requirements.

Key project specifics include: Fermilab will supply splice kits, switch termination kits, and cable supports, while the subcontractor is responsible for pin terminations for overhead fused cutouts. The project involves installing a new 70"x70"x48" vault (UCP 75-150V-WIN), using a 45' pole cut down to ~25', replacing substation yard stone with ¾-inch washed river rock, and using 5" conduit that does not need to be concrete encased. Fermilab riggers will remove the existing switch and set the new vault. The existing vault walls are 8" thick, and two 6" risers will be used to replace the brick around the existing vault.
