1. 9-16-20 9-17-20 At the end of the virtual meeting I was told the slide show could be sent out. Do you know if that’s still in the works?

If you would like this version of the site visit, Please forward a request to the presenter Steven Elliot at Steven.Elliott3@va.gov and Cc the Contract Specialist Thomas Council at Thomas.Council@va.gov. These are large files for both the photos and the videos. All together they are about 85MB of data, too large to send in an e-mail. You will need to provide Steven with your FTP site, so he can upload them.

2. 9-18-20 9-22-20 Exhaust Fans: Architectural Dwg's (A-101/A-102) show one fan at both 1st and 2nd floor levels at the South all whereas Mechanical Dwg MH-2.1 Shows the Fans on the East wall, please confirm the South wall is the correct orientation.

Confirmed. South wall is the correct orientation.

3. 9-18-20 9-22-20 Fire Stop at Expansion Joint: Do you have a preferred model number or Vendor for style illustrated, see detail 3/A-501?

Inpro Expansion joints were used as the basis-of design product and customized for the application.

4. 9-18-20 9-22-20 Doors: It looks like at least door openings on first floor level are in CMU walls. Assuming an 8” block, 7’0” doors with a 2” head won’t work very well with your block layout. Would the VA prefer to proceed per design drawings or amend to have either a 4” head, of 7’-2 tall doors?

It is acceptable to have a 4” head, of 7’-2” tall door.

5. 9-18-20 9-22-20 Asbestos: Has testing been done previously, and if so, are there any reports available?

Prior asbestos testing has been completed and the report is attached for reference. Reference Building 1D Asbestos Report attachment posted with this Amendment 0002. We do not anticipate any existing asbestos on this project.

7. 9-18-20 9-22-20 Safety Requirements: Spec section 01 35 26 – 10 item

1.7 calls for designation of one Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) and Competent Person (CP). Can the Site Superintendent dual hat these positions providing they are qualified?

10. 9-18-20 9-22-20 Roofing: Sheet A-501 shows EPDM Membrane roofing adhered approximately 1’ up parapet walls with a flashing of some sort. Can the roofer run the membrane roofing up to the top of parapet with metal coping covering?

This will be acceptable, provided the warranty is received for the roofing material and installation

11. 9-22-20 9-28-20 I have noticed a design issue that needs some direction in order to quote the equipment. On plan sheet ED-302 there shows panel LECRS2B and Transformer T- LECRS2B as existing. They also show up on plan sheet EP-302 as new replacements. The problem is they are not included on the one-line drawings. Amendment #1 did add in the panel schedule for the panel but says nothing about the size of the transformers or where they are fed from. We need this in order to get a quote. Can you get an answer for me?

The Panel LECRS2B and Transformer T- LECRS2B are shown as new in the new sheet EP-

302. The panel and the transformer on Sheet ED- 302 has the subscript as “RP” meaning that the existing equipment is to be removed and replaced with new at the same location.

Size of panel “LECRS2B”- 225 A, with Bus size 200Amps.

Size of Transformer “T-LECRS2B” - 75 KVA, 480/120-208V, 3-Phase, 4-Wire.

Transformer “T-LECRS2B” is being fed off from Distribution Board “DBHECRS”.
