1. 1.11.22 1.27.22 Specs 32 18 16 are calling for golf green and chipping area with cups flagpoles etc, built on plywood and foam deck with undulations. The drawing 1384-A103 does not look like a golf green, asking for clarification. Is this a golf green, if not do you still want undulations?

This is not a golf green.

In specification Section 32 18 16:

Section 1.2, Part A: Strike references to indoor putting green and chipping Area.

Section 1.2, Part A to be revised to say: Section includes synthetic grass surfacing for installation as indicated on the Drawings and specified herein.

Section 1.3: Strike Part A from the project.

Section 1.6, Part C: Strike references to contour underlayment panels, cups and flagsticks from the project.

Section 3.3, Part C: Strike Item 1 from the project.

No contours, undulations or slopes are to be installed.

2. 1.11.22 1.27.22 Edge detail calls for a neoprene edging between turf.

Please confirm that edging is desired?

Neoprene Edging can be removed if proposed product substitutions can be seemed together cleanly. Contractor to provide a clean seam connection. If not, neoprene edge to remain to provide clean transition between turf systems

3. 1.11.22 1.27.22 Specs call for Synlawn Synblue949 and Synplay48 in gray. Just to clarify, Synblue is not blue it is green. Blue we believe is in reference to bluegrass.

Yes, the Blue in the product name is in reference to Bluegrass not the color blue.

4. 1.11.22 1.27.22 Can we use TXT48 which is the same product as Synplay 48 both made at STR.

Yes, TXT 48 is an acceptable substitution.

5. 1.11.22 1.27.22 Is it acceptable to substitute ForeverLawn Dupont Select LX landscape grass for the Synblue 949

Substitution is acceptable. Please note response to item 2 above, if product is not able to be seemed with Synplay48 / TXT48 Neoprene edging is to be provided as the transition between turf types.

6. 1.11.22 1.27.22 Synblue 949 or DuPont Select LX would require infill.

Which product should we use for infill?

Utilize manufacturer recommended infill for product.

7. 1.13.22 1.27.22 Question on this, in the surgical waiting room it shows elevations on page A411 and A311. But does not show full height. It shows painting columns and P6 under windows on second story. How far up are we painting?

To deck? the whole wall and pillars?

All existing walls in the Atrium are to be painted to the bottom of deck. Refer to elevations on page A421, A422, A423 & A424 for wall areas above the elevations shown on sheets A411 & A412.

8. 1.17.22 1.27.22 For the automatic slide door 2P-150 detail 3/A601 shows our All-Glass slider. However, this is not mentioned in the spec and elevation 3/A411 shows the standard Dura- Glide with aluminum stiles. I attached product information on both types. Can you please help verify what it is they actually need? Let me know if you have any questions.

Basis of Design and Minneapolis Station Standard is the Stanley Dura Glide 2000.

9. 1.17.22 1.27.22 The same sliding door 2P-150 shows a B fire rating on the schedule. Neither of the attached door types have a fire rating. Are we able to install a non-rated door at this location?

Door must be NFPA 101 compliant. Basis of Design and Minneapolis Station Standard is the Stanley Dura Glide 2000.

10. 1.17.22 1.27.22 Please confirm that that Superintendent may also fulfill the role of SSHO.

Yes, per Specification 01 35 26, Section 1.7.C.

11. 1.17.22 1.27.22 In Section 01 45 00 it states, “The CQC System Manger is assigned as CQC System Manager but has duties as project superintendent in addition to quality control.”

Please confirm that it is the VA’s intent to only have 1 field person – that is fulfilling the duties of Superintendent, QC Manager, and SSHO – for a project magnitude and complexity of this size?

No, it is the intent that the CQC System manager is a separate person fulfilling the requirements set forth in Specification 01 45 00.

12. 1.17.22 1.27.22 If the VA does not want 1 field person fulfilling all duties, please confirm the exact field team the VA expects to be on site to ensure general conditions are priced accordingly.

Means and Methods. Specification sections provided outline the requirements put forth by the VA. Bidders shall fulfill these requirements and have reflected within their bid submittal.

AE Bancroft provides the commissioning, and the GC will provide commissioning support.

a. Are there any fines associated with employees not complying?

No current fines. Follow OSHA guidelines.

a. If an employee is spot checked by a COR, and cannot provide a vaccination card or test, will the employee be asked to leave, or can they take a rapid test on site prior to returning to work?

Contractor shall follow current requirements without specific compliance checks from the VA.

a. The VHA Supplement Requirements requires testing for exempt employees but does not mention testing for employees that have been exposed to COVID 19 positive individuals. Are we to include costs for ancillary testing for unforeseen COVID 19 exposure, and if so what are the protocols?

Follow current CDC guidelines. Provide testing as directed. Costs to be included in the proposal.

32. 1.18.22 1.27.22 Can the project superintendent also be the CQC Systems Manager?

The project superintendent and the SSHO can be the same person, but they cannot fulfill both duties and be the CQC Manager.

What is the government intent for contractors to mobilize construction structural steel into the construction area?

Please refer to drawing 1384-GC402 and 1384- GC401 for material delivery intent for the project.

Entrance to the building is identified at corridor C1-117. Field splices to be provided as needed.

Field splices to be provided as needed based on delivery limitations based on material delivery route. Loading on floors to be limited to 100 PSF and a 2000# load over a 6.25 SF area.

35. 1.18.22 1.27.22 Would the government consider authorizing a 2nd site visit?

Due to COVID concerns, a 2nd site visit will not be granted at this time.

36. 1.18.22 1.27.22 Can Moderco Partitions be approved equal to Modernfold partitions – spec section 102243?
