About this file
This file is a Questions and Answers amendment (Amendment 0002) addressing contractor inquiries related to the audio booth installation at the Burlington, Iowa VA Medical Center.
The document clarifies key site conditions and installation parameters: the host room has a 9-foot ceiling with ACT edge trim along the booth wall, is located on ground level, and does not have a loading dock (staging area coordination required with lessor). Regarding mechanical hookups for electrical, data, alarms, sprinklers, and HVAC systems, the government confirms that while the specification calls for electrician hookups, the government will work with the awardee to make final MEP connections as needed. The government acknowledges that mechanical installations are typically handled by third-party vendors and indicates acceptance of rough-ins with pull-conduit for simple installation once mechanicals are run to the required locations, rather than expecting audio booth installers to handle specialized MEP work.

Questions
1. What is the ceiling height in the host room? Is it a drop ceiling? If so, are there any mechanicals above the ceiling? 9’ with ACT edge trim along wall of booth.
1. Is there a loading dock and/or parking lot to offload and stage material? There isn’t a loading dock, and a staging area will need to be coordinated with the lessor.
1. Is the host room on the ground floor? If not, is there a freight and/or service elevator that can accommodate 9ft panels? Everything is ground level.
1. Mechanical hookups – eg. electrical, data, alarms, sprinklers, HVAC, etc – are specialized installations and are normally handled by other 3rd party vendors. We can provide rough-ins with pull-conduit for simple installation once the mechanicals are run to where they’re needed. We just want to set these expectations as the spec calls for electrician hookups that aren’t staffed by audio booth installers. Please confirm that’s acceptable. Will work with awardee to make final MEP connections that are needed for the booth.
