About this file

This document contains questions submitted by vendors in response to solicitation number 36C26123Q1020 for window cleaning services at VA medical centers and clinics in Southern Nevada. The questions seek clarification on access to windows at various building locations, whether repelling gantries or lifts would be required, and scheduling for the work. The agency responses indicate that some roof areas may not have repelling access and vendors should conduct site visits. Boom lifts or cranes were previously used for high windows, and after-hours work would allow equipment closer to buildings. Solar panels are separate from this project. Thirty days is estimated for the main campus but satellite sites should be achievable, with minimum two-week notice needed to staff and patients for safe vendor access.

Window Cleaning Services for VA North Las Vegas

Questions Submitted by Interested Vendors

Solicitation # 36C26123Q1020

1. Is there a site visit available for this job? Yes, details are provided in Amendment 0001.

2. Main Campus on Pecos: Does the Repelling Gantry enable access on the main roof what about the sub tier roof below? Yes, but some areas may not have repelling system availability.

3. Is there a roof mounted repelling Gantry for the East side of the Admin Building? This isn't part of the 6story main building it is a offshoot of it on East and West Sides. Not all areas have repelling system capabilities. Previous vendor used crane. Site visit needed for vendor verification.

4. Please clarify how we are to access these windows and coordinate what appears to be a boom lift that might be needed would this be considered off shift work? (see image below) Previous vendor used boom lift or crane.

5. Please clarify if the repelling Gantry can access this area over the Emergency room entrance if not a boom lift will be needed would this be considered after hours work? (see image below) Some roof areas may not have repelling gantry. Vendor may need to conduct site vist.

6. Please clarify how we access this area that is recessed? Is there a repelling Gantry? If not is this to be after hours? Boom lifts or crane were used for these areas and after hours and weekends allow equipment closer to building by blocking off parking stalls.

7. Please clarify if we are to do anything on the solar panels while we have equipment available? It would improve efficiencies on the production side! (see images below). Solar panel and equipment will be a separate service and maintenance project. They are not part of this project.

8. Boulder Highway and South Buffalo Areas: Please clarify related to the anchor points and access to the lower roof see below if a boom lift is warranted should be done off hours? Boom lifts or cranes equipment are used for these high reach windows.

9. Due to the complexities of the site please clarify if the 30 days for the main campus is accurate the satellite sites on Boulder and Buffalo seem doable but the Main Campus seems Far-fetched to accomplish. More people is more security issues would be safer to stretch few people both inside and out. Please clarify the schedule at the main campus. 30 days or minimum two-week notification need to staff and patient to cardon/block off areas for safe access to high reach windows. Boom lifts or cranes equipment are used for these high reach windows.
