RFI #3 – Within Solicitation, Section 2.2 & 2.3, Project Scope, Page 6 of 77: Does the government wish Contractor to provide all “card readers”? If so, please confirm exact model and specifications (e.g. Stanley).

Answer: There is no specific model. The card readers need to be compatible with the current VA PIV cards IDEMIA v7, and must also be compatible with the new IDEMIA Cosmos One v8.1 cards that requires the IDEMIA Minidriver v1.2.8 for full standardization and functionality.

RFI #4 – Re “card readers”, who is responsible for the programming of card readers and integration into the VAMC system?

Answer: The task of programming and integrating will be a responsibility of the contractor to ensure that the stations/servers have the required drivers necessary to utilize the card readers and they will need to program the Pneumatic Tube side to communicate and accept authentication credentials from VA OIT.

RFI #5 – Within Solicitation, Section 2.9.3, Project Scope (ICRA), Page 7 of 77: please confirm the type of ICRA dust control barrier required (for example: hard plastic build-out wall; zip wall with spring-loaded poles, etc.).

Answer: The class of ICRA is outlined in the scope and the Specifications.

i. Pneumatic tube project will fall under Infection Control Classification - Type II while performing majority of scoped work throughout the hospital. Type C with Low Risk association.

a. A soft barrier would be acceptable for minor drywall cuts and repairs.

ii. Pneumatic tube project will fall under Infection Control Classification – Type III while performing work in any of the following areas (Lab, Pharmacy, PACU). Type C with High Risk Associated.

a. Temporary hard barriers will be required in ICU, PICU, OR etc. or any high-risk areas

RFI #6 – Within Solicitation, Section 2.4 & 2.7, Project Scope, Page 6 of 77: shall Contractor only be responsible for providing the government with a full set of “shop drawings” versus Construction Documents?

Additionally, please identify the type of “staff” that Contractor “…shall work with…to build and define the zone features” (Section 2.4).

Answer: This is a 2-part question.

1. Yes, the construction drawings expected from this project are only shop drawings.

2. The contractor will work with the VA COR.
