AMENDMENT NO. 0013

Solicitation 36C26118R0541 Project 654-18-831 IPP USP 797/800 Compliance (Pharmacy)

General

The following changes, additions or deletions shall be made to the following Contract Documents.

All other conditions shall remain the same.

1. SPECIFICATIONS

a. N/A

2. DRAWINGS

a. N/A

3. OFFEROR QUESTION AND CLARIFICATION

a. Question: The scope of work indicates temporary swing space needs to comply with USP 797 and 800. This is equivalent to building USP 797 and 800 compliant spaces twice (once for the swing space and a second time for the pharmacy space). As a cost-savings measure, since compliance with USP 800 will not take effect until December 2019, can the temporary swing space be built to a lesser standard?

b. Response: No, the temp space must meet USP 797/800 standard.

c. Question: There was discussion about using an internal modular building system within the existing facility to create the temporary space. Would the Contractor have the option of using a modular system or standard building materials (such as gyp board, metal stud walls etc)?

d. Response: No, not at this time.

e. Question: We have concerns with the time frames listed in the scope of work.

Our designers say the design duration on their projects they have already done and are working on for other VA’s has been around 6-9 months, Can the VA re-review the schedule and extend the duration?

f. Response: During market research for this project, it was determined time of delivery for a modular system into existing swing space would be two to three weeks.

g. Question: The Modular companies are experiencing high volumes for their modular spaces and for the trailer options due to this being a nationwide need for compliance upgrades. Both types are currently 9-12 months out from date of approved shop drawings for the design plans from them, can the VA extend the duration to accommodate this schedule?

h. Response: See above response on market research for time of delivery.

i. Question: The size listed in the scope of work references modular room to fit inside a space of 32’ x 14’, but for the requirements to accommodate the list given and the compliance sizes the modular space would need to be 48’ long x 14’ wide x 11’ tall. Can this be accommodated in the “swing Space”?

j. Response: Based on above market research, yes, the swing space can accommodate a modular system.

k. Question: And with this size in mind could it still go in flag circle as originally spoken about in the job site visit?

l. Response: See above response on market research that the swing space can accommodate a modular system.

m. Question: We have come to find that the electrical needs for a trailer or a modular space would require a 3 phase 480 v 150 amp service from the VA existing power, can this be accommodated by the VA in the swing space or the flag circle area to make connections too?

n. Response: We would need to evaluate the electrical needs and the existing power.

Yes, there is 480vac 3ph 150amps within 100 feet.

o. Question: Can we receive as-builts for the layout area for the swing space??

p. Response: Yes.

q. Question: Can this bid due date be extended to January to accommodate above questions and upcoming holidays?

r. Response: Yes, it will be extended with thIs amendment (0013) posting these Q and A’s.
