CONTRACTOR Q&A’s

1St Floor Carpet Replacement

Q&A No 1: Per Amendment response to question No.14, regarding carpet types (Broadloom or Modular/Carpet tile) VERIFY IN FIELD THE BEST POSSIBLE MATCH TO EXISTING CONDITIONS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION WITH COR (I.E., All materials submittals shall be submitted to the COR for approval after award.) – the existing appears to be Broadloom carpet, is this the product the VA wants? Or is the intent to use Carpet tiles to match existing pattern? Note that these materials have different price ranges and it is pertinent to know during bid the type of carpet needed and not after award. (ie; another contractor may use broadloom on their proposal and the other is carpet tile which will have a significant value in their price proposals. Please advise.

Answer No.1: Please see file: S02 – TIL 09-68-00 Carpet (attached to the amendment)

Q&A No 2: Per Amendment response to question No.15, 22 and 24 inquiring about the referenced finish section. The response with specification link is blank and did not provide finish schedule (Finish code, Pattern, Manufacturer, Mfg. Color name/No.) same with the rubber base and carpet edging/transitions. Please advise. Note that on most RFP’s this information are provided in able to have an ‘apples to apples’ reference and comparison for all bidders in determining for award of the contract.

Answer No.2: Please see file: S02 – TIL 09-68-00 Carpet (attached to the amendment)
