RFI # 4
85. “Please confirm; Addenda 5 Construction Set 100% has the removal of rooms 717 and 718 (AS-
104). It is also showing conflicts with curtain tracks in the bathrooms (AS-400 thru AS-403), especially Rm 714 on AS-402.”
Removal of room 717 and 718 is a part of bid alternate #1 (deduct) and should be taken as such.
AS-104 illustrates this as a deduct alternate.
Curtain tracks are flush with ceiling and only interfere with the overhead patient lift track. In instances where the shower curtain “intersects” with the lift track, hold off the curtain track at that end/s as shown on plans.
86. page AS-601, Door Type Sliding glass doors are to be fire rated for 45 minutes (also reference
GI-011 life safety). According to the Stanley representative (manufacturer for the desired SPEC) in reference to SPEC 08 42 43 the ICU doors cannot have a fire rating which is contradicting the plans/specs.
Fire rating for these doors is not required by code. Additionally, NFPA 101 (2012) indicates interior nonbearing walls are 0 hour rated. Additionally, IBC 2015 table 1020.1 states I2 occupancies with sprinkler system do not require a minimum fire rating on corridors. The walls were designed to exceed minimum requirements and improve privacy concerns throughout the wing. Please disregard the 45-minute requirement on the doors. Smoke infiltration requirements will need to be considered in accordance with NFPA and UL 1784.
