45) We are working on the details on the VA specifications as presented and validating the data provided. We have identified what we believe to be an issue. Namely the VA specifications as provided list 750 KCMIL from the generator to the two installed ATS’s and then into the main panels located at fisher 1 and fisher 2.

We have estimated this run to be approx... 576 feet in total. Our calculations show that this conductor (750 KCMIL) runs for this distance at 208v will have an approximate voltage drop of 19 volts. Needless to say, if we are correct this is a major issue.

To resolve this voltage, drop issue we would have to run parallel KCMIL 500’s which would require 2 more 4” conduits to be run for the approx... 576 feet.

Please advise how you would like us to proceed and any additional details you may require?

The design calls for each phase to have 4, 750KCMIL conductors each. With 4 conductors/phase the voltage drop would be much less than 5% combined allowed for both feeder and branched circuits.

Model 4500 Specifications

Resistor Elements ASCO load banks use helically wound chromium alloy Helidyne elements. Ele-ments are fully supported across their entire length by segmented ceramic insulators on stainless steel rods. These elements are designed to operate at approximately 1/2 of their maximum continuous wire rating.

Elements are positioned within the cool-ing airstream for optimal performance.

Changes in resistance due to temperature are minimized by maintaining conservative watt densities.

The overall load tolerance of the 4500 load bank is -0, +5%. This ensures that advertised kW is delivered at rated voltage.

The elements are continuously rated at the specific voltage. Tests at lower volt-ages, with a corresponding reduction in overall rating, may be carried out.

Safety Features A differential pressure switch is interlocked with the load application controls to pre-vent load from being supplied if cooling air is not present.

An overtemperature switch is provide to sense the load bank exhaust. The switch is interlocked with the load ap-plication controls to disable load from being supplied if an over-temperature condition is present.

The fan motor is protected with fuses and overloads.

Major fault protection is provided by branch circuit fuse protection. Fuse protection is provided on all load steps.

The exterior of the load bank has appro-priate warning and caution statements on access panels.

Internal access is restricted by bolt on exterior panels.

The air intake on the 4500 is designed to prevent objects greater than 0.50" diam-eter from being ingested into the unit.

Horizontal air discharge is provided and exhaust air is directed downward away from personnel.

All dimensions are in inches [millimeters].

Specifications subject to change without notice.

Ambient Temperature The 4500 load bank is designed for con-tinuous duty cycle with no limitations. The ambient temperatures range is -20°F to 120°F (-28°C to 50°C).

Mounting The 4500 is designed for outdoor installa-tion on a concrete pad or structural base.

Power Terminals and Cable Entry The power terminals are located behind a removable, bolt on access panel. The 4500 has a recommended conduit entry area underneath the power terminal as-sembly to facilitate load cable installation.
