About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) response file for VA Project 519-17-800 to renovate a police area, containing 31 detailed questions and answers between the contractor and VA representatives. Key technical details include confirmation of construction specifications such as crawl space height (30-36"), wall heights (13'-6"), and confirmation of blast/ballistic-resistant wall requirements. The project involves renovation work with specific requirements around utility investigation, fire suppression system modifications, and potential hazardous material handling.
Notable administrative details include the project being a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business set-aside with an estimated value between $2-5 million, using normal working hours (0800-1630), and having specific guidelines for material handling, equipment removal, and system transitions. The VA indicates ongoing transitions in several systems, including moving to Avigilon products for surveillance and access control, and requiring compatibility with these new systems. The contractor is not expected to perform design work but will provide red-line drawings for final as-built documentation.
